When to ask questions

I used to be a strong advocate of asking questions whenever you don't understand something. However, as I've begun narrowing down my interests and specializing in topics, I've revised my philosophy. Now, primarily because of how time is a limited resource, I believe you should ask questions when you actually want to know something.

The difference is asking questions when you "don't know" versus when you "want to know".
